This page explains how to delete the personal data that SmartDM holds about you and the Instagram account(s) you have connected. We provide several ways to request deletion, in line with the GDPR and the Meta Platform Terms.
1. Disconnect an Instagram account
To stop SmartDM from accessing a specific Instagram account and delete the data associated with it (messages, comments, profile information and access tokens), sign in to the app and go to Settings → Accounts, then choose Disconnect on the relevant account. Disconnecting immediately revokes our access and deletes the Instagram data we stored for that account.
2. Delete your entire SmartDM account
To delete your whole SmartDM account and all related data, sign in and go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your account data and all connected Instagram data. This action is irreversible.
3. Remove the app from Instagram
You can also revoke SmartDM's access directly from Instagram: open the Instagram app or Account Center, go to Apps and websites, select SmartDM and remove it. When access is revoked, the data we received for that account is deleted.
4. Request deletion by email
If you cannot sign in, send a deletion request to privacy@caminotv.io from the email address associated with your account, mentioning the Instagram username concerned. We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days.
5. What gets deleted
- Stored Instagram messages, comments and media metadata;
- Profile information retrieved from the Instagram Graph API;
- Access tokens and the connection to your Instagram account;
- Your SmartDM account data (when you delete the whole account).
Some data may be retained for a limited period only where required by law (e.g. accounting or fraud-prevention obligations), after which it is permanently erased.
6. Confirmation
Once your request is processed, we will confirm the deletion by email. For any question, contact privacy@caminotv.io.
